Image of the Week #13: McTrump
Asserting his desire to be a man of the people, Trump hits the frialator at a McDonald's chain
During a deeply frustrating conversation with a fucking communist fence sitter, someone actually making the argument that there would be “no difference” between a Kamala Harris or Trump presidency, the person arguing with me insisted that I explicitly explain why Trump, “a rich man” according to the communist, could ever be a “man of the people.” Obviously, this shouldn’t be hard to explain. There have been elite class heretics at pivotal moments throughout all of written history. Ceasar and Nero of Ancient Rome, to be certain, are examples of this. Alfred the Great, king of the Anglo-Saxons towards the end of the 800s A.D., saved his people from the violent conquests of the Vikings and was beloved as a level-headed and merciful ruler who felt real compassion for his subjects. These types of men DO HAPPEN once in a while.
In any case, this is what I said to the fence sitter (hopefully I won’t have to waste anymore time swaying the single opinions of individuals when I could be helping Trump win this fucking thing):
”He’s the guy that the people have chosen. He is a man of the people because that is what he is. It’s what happened, and is happening. It’s your history, that you actively choose to remain detached from. Caesar was this once, too. Trump is the guy for one reason: because he can win. He can do it. No one else has the stomach to take this machine on. No other man has the sheer strength of will to endure what Trump has endured: potential prison time for both himself and his children, assassination attempts, endless media hysteria and disruption of his personal life. The times have changed, and the lines have shifted. It’s time to make a position. Sometimes, history calls upon ONE MAN of the ruling to right the wrongs of those of his fellow rulers. The stakes are far too high to be ‘both sidesing’. This is my honest assessment of where we are as a society. It’s do or die time. Win or lose. Good or evil. Trump or THEM!”
My point made to this communist is further validated by Trump’s recent publicity stunt spending an afternoon working at McDonald’s. Yes, it was a publicity stunt. A political stunt. Not all political stunts, however, are made equal. Indeed, there’s a seismic difference between Trump hitting the frialator and handing over happy meals to voters and AOC “getting arrested”. We all know that AOC is the pinnacle of the Democratic Party’s strategy to allude to some kind of progressive utopian vision of genderless, racialess, blissville without actually changing a single thing about their politics. AOC is a liar, to herself most of all, that has been given status and position by being able to simultaneously brand herself as a progressive firebrand AND a party loyalist. Trump is loyal to himself and his people alone. Fundamentally, a Trump political stunt doesn’t disgust us in the way that an AOC arrest does, because he is both not condescending to us and also totally in on the joke.
Shane Gillis’ impression of Trump works so well because it doesn’t parody Trump at all. Gillis recognizes implicitly that Trump is always performing “Trump” better than anyone else is, and that Trump is having an amazing time doing it. You don’t need to exaggerate any of his multitudes of affectations of rhetorical flourishes because they have all been completely and carefully crafted by Trump himself. Gillis as Trump hits because it’s Trump, and Trump HITS.
So, when Trump works a day at McDonald’s, he doesn’t do so with contempt for anyone who has ever worked there. On the contrary, he successfully signals to them that he doesn’t think that they are beneath him. Look at him! How can anyone claim that Kamala with her evil cackle is the JOYOUS candidate of this election? Trump is always having a good time, and sadly many Americans have been conditioned to fear a white man having a good time. Trump evokes a massive aura of genteel and regal authority. Some people hate that kind of confidence and ease with self in a man, but enough of us know: “That’s the kind of man meant to lead.”
“No surprise, the man who’s never had an actual job in his life did not actually work at McDonald’s,” Stephen Colbert said on Monday. Citing news reports, he said the Trump appearance “was a half-hour photo op at a closed McDonald’s, and the people he served were preselected supporters.”
These people are such colossal pieces of shit and liars. What audience is Colbert even communicating with? No one watches his terrible show, and the PEOPLE are with Trump, at McDonald’s. Enjoying burgers and fries and making America great again.
