The affiliates and supporters of the Counter-Agency of the Avant-Garde gathered at the Sovereign House to witness the explosive live debut of the conceptual rock n’ roll juggernauts and “PUMP METAL” pioneers Botched Chadification (Safety Propaganda director and artist/writer Adam Lehrer on vocals and his consigliere and artist Alex Bienstock on guitar and production) along with the support of some of the most talented members of the Safety Propaganda network. What transpired shook the Earth and likely altered the course of history.

Filling in the for the visual artist and poet Tom Koehler who is stationed upstate on some art phaggy residency, Jonas Kyle read some poems from Koehler’s forthcoming debut poetry collection. The mildly deranged but utterly composed literary artist Konrad Von Ravenholz read some mind-bending prose from his forthcoming work of avant-fantasy hate literature. The poet Billy Pedlow told stories of surreal fantasies of persecution and overcoming. Then, we were treated to new work by both of the co-hosts of the New Write Podcast. Matt Pegas read from his novel Dragon Day while his co-host Dan Baltic read a chapter out of his much discussed debut novel Nutcrankr. Closing out the literary section of the night, Bennington College’s most ethereal graduate Sierra Armor read some haunting and beautiful prose from her forthcoming book.

Opening the weaponized performance portion of the event, noise artist How I Quit Ketamine destroyed ear drums and brought laughter and joy all at once. In a New York edition of Adam’s hit short play Celebutante Rape Therapy, superstar thespians Peter Vack and Salomé brought drama and erotic tension that you couldn’t cut with a knife.

AND FINALLY: BOTCHED CHADIFICATION PLUGGED IN AND BROUGHT DOWN THE FUCKING HOUSE! The band’s first public appearance since starring in their album length film directed by the artistic visionary Bradford Kessler, the band played every single track from their sell-out debut EP Masculinity Under Threat. Adam stripped down to his bikini thong and flexed his muscles and screamed his head off while Bienstock menaced the crowd and compelled it towards violence and catharsis. A show that will not be soon forgotten and a beautiful conclusion to the first chapter of Botched Chadification’s story.
